At the junction between the canalized Scheldt and the Saint-Quentin canal, the port of Cantimpré was developed in 1862. At the end of the 19th century, it became an important river port, which brought together the Docks and Warehouses, the Chamber of Commerce and many industries. More than a hundred barges pass through it daily.
Today, yachting is the main part of its activity!
